Trail Run

Ryan and I have a 10K trail run in less than two weeks. No time like the present to start training for it I guess ;)

Yesterday morning we decided to switch up our normal SundayRunday (which we either do from our house or down at the beach) and went over to some nearby trails.

We had 5 miles on the schedule and thankfully the park had about 4.5 miles of trails (so adding in an extra little loop by the parking lot got us to our goal). Some of them were shady, but for the most part we were running in the sun. We got a late start (I tried waking Ry up around 7:45, but he and Walt were "too comfy" and just couldn't get up until closer to 9) so it was pretty toasty on the trails.

It was fun switching things up. We ran by a couple of ponds (which had ducks and geese), saw some horses on the trails, watched a roadrunner take off up one of the hills, and were able to get in a few training miles in the process. All-in-all it was a great way to start our Easter morning.

We have already talked about going back to the trails and taking the pup. Hopefully I'll be able to get Ry out there to run again with me.

How did you start your Easter morning?
